A CIO promoted John to Head of Production. He had a good track record and was well known at getting the job done. Nine months later the CIO was getting increasing reports that John was causing problems. The Sys-admins were unhappy; deployments were running late and backing up; there were mixed messages as to the cause. The infrastructure suddenly seemed unstable and projects appeared stalled. Was John derailing? A Business Coach was appointed and worked with John to identify the issues and instigated some key changes in Johns behaviour. Once the fires were out, John was able to focus and return to his usual productive behaviour.The CTO responsible for IT production in a publishing company, required a half day to work through some initial issues raised by the Pre-Coaching package and agree the key areas for his personal development. This was followed by 3 one hour sessions by phone over the next 6 weeks. Once the initial areas were addressed, the coaching pattern continued on the basis of a 3 hour face to face every 3 months with the occasional phone call support in between. The frequency again will be dependant on your needs and the starting frequency will become self evident during the pre-coaching period.
